ForceShield Defender Series Door

Constructed of 10 gauge steel, nearly twice as thick as required by FEMA for tornado resistance, our tornado-rated door latches with a 1/8 turn of the lever handle, engaging 6 one-inch diameter chrome-plated solid-steel bolts into the 10 gauge steel frame.  In addition, there are four 1"x5" steel ball-bearing hinges welded door-to-frame, for a total of 10 points of attachment.

It has been engineered and tested to meet or exceed the standards set forth by FEMA and the International Code Council for tornado shelter doors, as specified in FEMA 320, FEMA 361, and ICC-500.

The ForceShield Defender Series Door latches, but does not lock from the outside.  A thumb-turn type locking mechanism on the inside is included on all our doors for an added measure of safety. Once you are safely inside, a one-eighth turn of the lever handle engages all six locking pins in place.  If you desire, the thumb-turn can also be engaged from the inside to lock the door.

The ForceShield Defender Series Door is available in 2'8"x6'8" or 3'0"x6'8", and is available as an in-swing.  It is designed to be used as a safe room door and is not suitable as an entry door to your home.

It is available with a variety of door skins to match your existing doors.
